This is the first fully illustrated book on the county's stations and halts, and includes photographs - many of them rare - of all but a few small short lived halts. Over the years Devon has been served by some 237 railway stations and halts, of which 60 remain in use.

Devon has a rich railway history and its stations exhibit a great variety of styles of building materials. Many were built with local materials, making their buildings - from ticket offices to goods sheds, signal boxes to station master's houses - of considerable architectural interest.
