Maureen Attwooll (nee Boddy) lives in Weymouth and is the author and co-author of a number of books on the town’s history including Weymouth: An Illustrated History (2nd extended edition 1995), Seaside Weymouth (1998) and Weymouth and Portland at War (1993). More recent publications have included the accompanying text for collections of 20th century local photographs by Weymouth photographer Graham Herbert and an illustrated study of maps of Weymouth and the surrounding area. She has been researching local shipwrecks for a number of years and she compiled and published one of the first definitive lists of Dorset wrecks.
