MICHAEL BILLETT was born in Dorchester, living in various parts of the county for many years. He is the author of several books on countryside matters, including Thatching and Thatched Buildings, The Thatched Buildings of Dorset, A History of English Country Sports, and Highwaymen and Outlaws.
